Apothecary is a meeting of two souls.
A soul from Milano, open-minded, gentle and international, lover of graphics, design and fashion. And a reserved, quiet soul, raised on the Supramonte mountains in Ogliastra, a land soaked in strength and mystery, archaic, proud. It’s here that a young herbal medicine and natural cosmetics doctor creates our products reinterpreting ancient herbal medicine remedies, in light of the newest studies on nature and wellness.

This meeting of souls generated our line of body products. Natural products, free of chemical additives or synthetic fragrances, enshrined in refined, handcrafted and eco-friendly packages. These are realized with an exquisite Dutch paper, resulting from cotton fibers’ maceration, manufactured in the Schoolmester mill since 1692. The production method stayed unchanged over time and it gives our creations a vibe of ancient beauty that only a handmade paper with its own imperfections can donate. The letterpress printing takes place in Milan in the historical Pesatori typography, where the art of manual typographic composition has been preserved until today. All of our bottles are made of amber-colored glass, in order to keep the cosmetic power of the preparation intact, and to guarantee they are completely recyclable after their use.

Apothecary is an evolving project aimed to donate emotions and beauty. Small daily luxuries for a modern lifestyle.

“There was an island situated in front of the straits which are by you called the Pillars of Heracles; the island was larger than Libya and Asia put together, and was the way to other islands, and from these you might pass to the whole of the opposite continent which surrounded the true ocean.”

Plato described Atlantis as a land full of mystery and charm. Archaeologists and Atlantis myth researchers date back the source of its identity to Sardinia and to Shardana, its ancient people. The harsh and inaccessible Ogliastra, its central-eastern region, still keeps its mysterious strength and its archaic rituals unchanged. It’s a thorny territory, where an impetuous underground energy runs within narrow and deep gorges, caves and silver profiled mountains, concealing still undecipherable secrets.

The magic of Domus De Janas, tiny houses built by fairies that can donate happiness or pain; the mystery of the giants’ tombs, with their regenerating power; and the tragic Mamutones masks, that tell a story of pagan festivals celebrating Dionysus. This vital force is at the core of our project. Our products are born in a family business, and they are designed preserving ancient, handed down orally recipes that bond – building bridges between tradition and innovation – with the studies of our herbalist, born in this generous land. Composed of 90% local ingredients such as mastic tree, myrtle, donkey and goat milk and, last but not least, helichrysum, the flower of the sun, that together maintain the history and nature of this island intact.
